About Megathon
Started in 2016, Megathon is an ambitious hackathon organised jointly by E-Cell IIIT Hyderabad and E-Cell IIT Hyderabad with the intention of promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship and development among the student community in and around Hyderabad. The first edition of Megathon turned out to be a huge success with participation from 80 teams having around 450 participants and over 1000 aspirants from 85+ colleges.
This year, the second edition of Megathon comes with a different format where various problem statements are broadly categorized into three sections - Corporate Challenges, Social Challenges and Startup Ideas. Participants will work on their ideas based on these problem statements over a 24-hour long hackathon format before the presentations begin.
Themes
Corporate Challenges
Through this section of problem statements, provided by sponsoring Corporate Entities, the participating teams get to work on prevalent problems in the modern corporate world. Winning teams stand a chance of developing products that will be used by millions around the globe, while attaining attractive prizes.
Social Challenges
This section of problem statements, provided by government and private initiatives, works towards resolving social issues that drown the growth of society in a pool of mediocrity. Here, teams can usher a change by contributing ideas to solve proposed problems, and make the world a better place.
